Which tool for parallel Claude Code?

Checked 18 October 2026. Tools change quickly; tell us on GitHub if something here is out of date.

You may not need Paneherd. If you run two sessions and glance at them now and then, separate terminals and Claude Code's own tools are enough: the official extension runs several conversations in tabs, and agent view (claude agents) lists background sessions by state and isolates each in a worktree. Paneherd is for running several at once in VS Code or Cursor, when answering prompts and keeping sessions out of each other's files becomes the work.
